» The 7 lessons from the land© to farm business management.

To obtain the best possible harvest, the farmer must take several steps. Farmers must "sow the right seeds in a rich earth and fertilize well." These principles remain true for their businesses.

It would be interesting to compare farm business management with the steps leading to a good harvest.
  • What do we want to harvest? What is our vision for our business, where do we want to go? Too often, farmers neglect their vision for their business and, if they have one, do not communicate it well if at all.

  • How do we prepare the soil?: What are we doing to prepare the farmers of the future? How do we integrate or train an employee? Unfortunately, the transfer of knowledge, information and power is often, and regrettably, left to chance or happenstance. This lack of preparation results in deficiencies in management and a lack of interest from the next generation.

  • Are we sowing the right seeds in good soil? We must first ensure that all individuals are in positions that suit them. They will thus have the possibility to develop their full potential and respond to the requirements of a viable business. Do entrepreneurs take the time to know themselves? What are their strengths, weaknesses, values, and needs? According to studies, only 10% of entrepreneurs have a realistic vision of themselves?

  • Are we using the right fertilizer? Each plant, like humans, has different needs. One of the main reasons for employee departures and the absence of future farmers is the absence of recognition. This is to individuals what fertilizer is to plants. It seems however that too many managers water their plants with "Roundup" rather than with nitrogen.

  • What are we doing with the weeds? What are we doing with those conflicts that, sooner or later, naturally emerge?

We must apply the knowledge acquired over time by our farmers. As a result of which we benefit from healthy and ecological harvests year after year.

By discovering the 7 lessons learned from the land©, perfectly adapted to farm business management, and with the development of emotional competencies Pierrette Desrosiers will provide you with winning strategies to increase the growth of your business.
